Staying in your lane and patience

Just a heads up, this isn’t a life or business coaching moment (I personally find those two “jobs” a joke, but that's my opinion), this is a just a thought that has been coming into my head for a number of weeks now since we've been stuck in Brisbane recently.

Myself and the team have seen it over the last few months that other premises are expanding, offering more services, Pilates is the current trend right now, and I can definitely see the benefit of incorporating Pilates into an exercise program, something we’ve always wanted to add.

We’ve had all these plans of expanding ourselves for a number of years now, adding more services and equipment such as Reformer Pilates and a Creche, and equipment you would find in traditional 24/7 gyms, because these all have their benefits as well. But, things happen that are out of our control which can be frustrating but it helps us stay patient because we know our time will come and it helps us focus on what we do best and that’s offering service and knowledge like no other and staying in our lane.

It’s very similar to following an exercise program (see the image), but things can happen and you won’t be improving every week, there will be ups and downs, but if you focus on what you can control, be persistent, then you will reach your goal and good things will come.

For example, our mission here is To provide the very best service and knowledge in health and fitness in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. I believe we are doing that, our team are always learning and practising what they preach. For example, Sarah recently completed her ASCA Level 2 course which is no easy feat, it’s a 4 day course with multiple workbooks to complete afterwards as well as writing a research article. Daniel, has recently begun his 3 year Exercise Science degree which we know takes a lot sacrifice and hours to complete. For myself, I’m currently completing my Masters in Physiotherapy through UQ, meaning I am driving down to Brisbane at least 3 times a week until next year, all with the focus on offering the very best service and knowledge in health and fitness in Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

We’ve also been able to see our vision come to light over the recent years too which is To be an industry leader that assists individuals, athletes and coaches. We’ve been able to assist not just our members and athletes, past and present, but coaches and university students as well. For example, we’ve had coaches from Townsville, Adelaide, and around the wider Darling Downs to learn from the team. And, we’ve got bigger goals in helping more and more coaches over the coming years too.

To finish, whether you’re in business or you have personal goals to achieve, I suggest that you focus on what you can control, stay in your lane and be patient.

For Premier Conditioning, yes, we will “expand” one day, but it won’t just be by getting more space or adding new equipment. Our expansion will be a combination of knowledge, service and experience with the goal of not being the “best” but the goal to help as many individuals as we can.
